The department »Mathematical Methods in Dynamics and Durability«
is active in modeling and simulating the dynamic behaviour,
durability and reliability of mechanical and mechatronical systems.
In terms of methods this involves multi-body simulation (MBS),
dynamic finite element methods (FEM), statistics and optimization.
On the application side our focus is on functional performance engineering
with respect to durability, load data analysis, dynamics and NVH (noise vibration harshness),
primarily in the vehicle development process.
Another important area of activity is the simulation of the manufacturing
process in order to design those functional properties.
Our main competence here is the simulation of the metal casting in view
of resulting durability properties.
